The Tropical Secrets Akumal

July 14, 20202 min read

At arrival, we were welcomed by several smiling staff eager to see and help us. They lead us down a beautiful long corridor to get checked in. Check-in was quick and easy. Our room included a jacuzzi tub on our balcony perfect for an evening soak. Secrets prides itself on their Unlimited-Luxury® commitment. We definitely are spoiled with all the included amenities like their top-shelf spirits. 🙂

It wasn’t long before we were exploring all the resort has to offer. To say we were pleased and excited is an understatement. The general feel is very tropical with tiki hut walkways and an abundance of tropical plants. While walking the grounds it was calm and peaceful even with the small (non scary) wildlife all around.

The staff did a wonderful job of keeping the beach and water clean of the seaweed that seemed to plaque them at that time. Chairs were easy to find and the cool ocean breeze blowing through the tiki umbrellas was relaxing and made for a great nap. The swing chairs at the Barracuda bar are fun to meet other vacationers. We had a few afternoons here.

One of the unique things was a turtle sanctuary close enough to swim out to see. The resort offered snorkeling equipment so all could enjoy.

Don’t forget about the excursions. We always enjoy a sunset catamaran ride. The crew was fun, knowledgeable and very professional.

And of course, the beautiful sunsets. They are my favorite.

This one was a quick one but goes to show you don’t need 7 or 8 days to visit Cancun. I am happy to help you plan and book your next vacation, but I would rather help you EARN on your OWN vacations.
