Secrets The Vine Cancun
When you just want to get away around the holidays…it’s Christmas in Cancun at the luxurious and relaxing Secrets The Vine Cancun! We absolutely love this all-inclusive resort.
When you arrive, you’ll be greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and a cool towel. Our drink was delicious, and the cool towel was a nice touch since we had been traveling all morning. As preferred guests, we were escorted to our floor (the 25th) where we met our personal butler. He got us checked in quickly and then showed us to our junior suite. The butler for that floor is available to help with anything you need during your stay, they even have day and evening butlers for extra coverage.
Junior suites are spacious and comfortable rolled up in one. The living area is a large open space with a king size bed and sitting area where I enjoyed my coffee and reviewed the daily activities on the hotel channel. The bed is very cozy with lots of pillows and there are three closets (with several drawers and shelves) allowing us to unpack and feel at home. The bathroom/shower…Oh my! The bathroom is open with his and hers sinks and lots of counter space. The toilet room or water closet as the British would say, has a door for privacy. The shower is huge (big enough for two easily) and quite the experience with all glass and located between the bathroom and the living area. It has both a normal shower head and a rain shower head with great water pressure.

The views are wonderful and some of the best in Cancun. We enjoyed the sunrise from the ocean and the sunset over the bay. Highly recommend the upper floors for the best views.

As soon as we settled in we couldn’t wait to start exploring the resort. Our butler was fantastic, answering all our questions as we learned the ‘lay of the land’. The restaurant choices are plenty.
The Market Cafe is perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The casual atmosphere offers a large variety of foods from the ‘made to order’ grill to continental to fresh smoked salmon (Glenn’s favorite, among MANY).
The Vine Bazaar, the café located in the lobby was open 24 hours. They offer delicious pastries, coffee, latte’s and more throughout the day. Several times we stopped by to pick up a cookie or brownie on our way to or from the beach.
Olio Mediterranean restaurant and bar is open for lunch and dinner. It is casual but most dress up a little more than casual for dinner. A private pool for preferred guests next to the restaurant offers a great view from the second level. We recommend the delicious sea bass as you enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. This is a great outside spot to enjoy a romantic dinner for two.

Sea Salt Grill and the Barefoot Grill are both fantastic for lunch during the day. We usually take a break from the sun to enjoy the restaurants, but we did order lunch poolside a few times. The Sea Salt Grill offers fresh seafood, and the Barefoot Grill is your typical American fast food.

The Bluewater Grill is incredible fine dining! We enjoyed it three times. The first two times we made a reservation to sit outside. The second night the rain moved in earlier than expected so they found room for us at the Chef’s table. The staff are super friendly, fun and accommodated our rainy situation. We enjoyed the food and staff so much we made reservations for a third night but chose to experience an indoor table this time. 🙂
We cannot say enough about the food. The steaks are exceptional, and everything is prepared beautifully. The deserts…YUM!

We also enjoyed the Dragons Oriental restaurant with sushi and sake.

We try to mix up beach time and poolside. Our few days on the beach were fantastic. They keep it clean and provide plenty of chairs for all guests. We had fun with the #SecretsTheVine sign, playing volleyball, and corn hole.
Our other days we spent poolside; they have three pools to choose from. All have great views, and easy access to restaurants, bars, and of course restrooms. They provided entertainment and activities during the day. There really isn’t a bad spot.

The night life at Secrets The Vine Cancun is fun and exciting. We watched the dancers in the Market Café one night and Viva Mexico poolside dinner with acrobatic performers the next. Both are fantastic! The Red Vine Piano Lounge offers something different every night. They mix it up from piano player to DJ to open dance floor. Fun Fun Fun!

The lobby is big and beautiful. The lounge area has an impressive fireplace burning at night where we relaxed and enjoyed a pre-dinner drink. Since it was December the resort had their Christmas tree displayed and of course it wouldn’t be the same without our Christmas props!

Here is our Christmas ornament from this trip. As some of you know we like to collect an ornament from each of our trips so as we put up our Christmas tree each year, we can remember our fun times.
We truly enjoy this resort and the weather in December was perfect for us!
Our favs:
The Bluewater Grill for their mouthwatering steaks.
The Dancers show at the Market Cafe for pure entertainment.
The fitness center to keep you healthy so you can enjoy it all.
Safe travels.
