From the moment we stepped onto the curb, our journey aboard the Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady began with Rockstar treatment. We were greeted by a friendly Rockstar Concierge who promptly took our bags, allowing us to start our vacation stress-free. As we were escorted to a priority boarding area, it was clear that this cruise would be an experience unlike any other. The VIP service set the tone for the rest of our unforgettable adventure.

Setting Sail on the Scarlet Lady

Our recent journey on the Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady was an experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped on board, we were captivated by the ship's sleek design and modern amenities. Navigating the ship was surprisingly easy. The intuitive layout, coupled with helpful signage, made exploring a breeze. Whether we were heading to one of the many restaurants, checking out the entertainment venues, or simply lounging on the deck, everything was conveniently located.

A Cruise Designed for Adults

One of the standout features of the Virgin Voyages is that it's an adult only cruise line. This created an atmosphere of relaxation and sophistication that we truly appreciated. The ship felt like a chic floating resort designed with grown-up fun in mind. We found it refreshing to enjoy the various activities and amenities without the hustle and bustle that sometimes comes with family-oriented cruises.

Luxury in the Rockstar Cabin

Our Rockstar cabin was beyond our wildest dreams. The luxurious accommodations were spacious, with a stylish design that made us feel like VIPs.

The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the plush bedding to the state-of-the-art technology. The cabin featured a custom mini-bar, a huge bathroom with a shower that could fit more than one person, and a peek-a-boo window offering stunning ocean views. We also loved the old-style record player, complete with a selection of records of our choice. The private terrace was the perfect spot to unwind sitting in the Yellow-Leaf hammock with a glass of champagne, watching the sunset over the Mediterranean. It was the ideal retreat after a day of exploring.

Commitment to Sustainability

Virgin Voyages Cruise line is also committed to sustainability, which was evident throughout our journey. The cruise line has banned single-use plastics from the Sailor experience, opting instead for sustainably sourced disposable products. With no buffets on board, all food is made-to-order, reducing food waste. Additionally, Virgin Voyages has a robust recycling program that diverts waste from landfills. This eco-conscious approach made us feel even better about our choice to sail with them.

An Extraordinary Dining Experience

The dining experience on board was nothing short of extraordinary. Unlike traditional cruises, Virgin Voyages offers a selection of made-to-order restaurants, all without buffets. Each meal felt like a culinary adventure, with options ranging from upscale dining to casual eateries. We indulged in everything from gourmet steaks to fresh sushi, and every dish was a delight. The Test Kitchen was a fantastic way to try something different, with innovative dishes that could be perfectly paired with a cocktail or wine. Gumbae was another highlight—delicious food served in a fun, lively atmosphere (be prepared, it will be loud!). The focus on quality ingredients and innovative menus made dining one of our favorite parts of the trip. Perfect for foodies.

Staying Active on Board

Even while cruising, we made sure to stay active thanks to the impressive fitness facilities on the Scarlet Lady. The fully-equipped gym offered everything we needed for a great workout, from state-of-the-art machines to free weights.

For a change of pace, we hit the outdoor track, where we enjoyed a refreshing jog with stunning ocean views. Staying fit on board was easy and enjoyable, making it the perfect way to balance out all the delicious dining!

Entertainment Highlights

We enjoyed all the entertainment, but a few of our favorites were the lively PJ party, the captivating Duel Reality with its twist on Romeo & Juliet, and an enchanting Jazz duo. Scarlet Night was unforgettable, with everyone dressed in red, entertainment throughout the ship, including a DJ and karaoke. The Social Club was another great spot, perfect for gathering to play board games, card games, tabletop shuffleboard, and more. If games aren't your thing, you can always stop by for some popcorn or a sweet treat.

A Tip for Your Cruise Journey

Here’s a tip to start your cruise journey: as soon as you board, take some time to check out all the activities offered so you don’t miss anything you want to see or do. You never know what 'secret' adventure you might find that you weren’t even looking for. That’s how we stumbled upon one of our favorite activities—the Speakeasy! It was so secret they actually locked our phones in a bag and led us through a hidden door. It was an absolute blast! If you decide to be adventurous, be sure to look for our mark, “Glenn & Tina 2024.” You’ll know what I mean when you get there.

Exploring the Mediterranean Ports

Speaking of exploration, the ports we visited were nothing short of breathtaking. Our adventure began in Barcelona, Spain, a city bursting with vibrant culture and stunning architecture.

Next, we docked in Toulon, France, where we wandered through the charming streets of St. Tropez and enjoyed a boat ride through Port Grimaud as we soaked in the rich history.

In Marina di Carrara, Italy, we marveled at the region's famed marble quarries, had some fun taking photos with the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and enjoyed the local Italian cuisine at a cozy cafe.

Our next stop was Civitavecchia, the gateway to Rome, where we enjoyed a walking food tour and explored the rich history of the Eternal City and its delicious flavors.

Our final stop was the lively island of Ibiza, where we explored a beautiful winery and experienced the island’s famous nightlife.

Each destination offered its own unique charm, adding layers of excitement and wonder to our journey.
